Definitions

LOVE is an intense feeling of deep affection. It is also means to have a great interest and pleasure in somebody or something.

RELATIONSHIP means a close connection between two people. The way they feel and behave towards each other.

With Who?… With

  • God
  • yourself
  • your parents
  • the opposite sex
  • Others
Let’s look at them one after the other.

YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

God’s Love isn’t based on feelings, Romans 5:5 . He loves us dearly and unconditional, Eph 2:4-5.
It’s impossible for human love to be unconditional, like God’s love.
Human love comes to an end, but God’s does not come to an end.

It is God’s unconditional love that draws us to Him.
His amazing grace erases our sins, and His powerful sacrifice makes a way for us to enter His presence.

His love will never quit, give up, or leave you.
Whenever you feel down or depressed, remember the great love that God has for you.

Living for God is all that should matter to you.

If you depend on God, He will give you favour and make things easier for you when we seek Him and His perfect timing. He leads one step at a time.
If you take one step forward in the wrong direction, He will let you know before you go too far. Rev 3:2.

Having seen how much God loves you dearly. The question now is,
How do you then relate with God?
Do you declare Him?
How do you reciprocate His love for you?
Are you shy to say you are coming from church when you meet your friends on the way?

Do you know that you were created for a purpose?
It is not by accident thay you came to this earth. You were born to be a blessing, to be a plus not a minus. You were created to be a great, successful, and rich here on earth.

Have a relationship with your God. Know what he wants you to do and the way he wants you to live. Wherever you are, you are representing the image of God. Thus, you are an ambassador of God.

An Excellent Christain, is not one who goes to church only on Sundays or answers a Christian only in name, but ONE WHO is CHRIST-LIKE.
If you are an Excellent Christain, people outside will be attracted to you and will desire to follow you to your church.
Becoming a good Christian starts with a total and absolute abandonment of oneself to God.

YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOURSELF

There’s nothing more important than knowing and loving yourself. Have self-knowledge, (Eph. 5:15).
When you discover yourself, you turn your difficulties to opportunities.
What standard do you give?
What kind of litany do you have, a negative or positive one?
If you have high esteem, you will be appreciated, respected and adored by all.

When you have a good relationship with yourself, you will have high self-confidence.
When you make negative utterances about yourself, forces around you will hear it and begin to fight you. So, be positive and speak positive things to yourself each day.
Also, the way you dress and the type of friends you keep, tells a lot about you. Remember, God sees and knows everything about you (Ps. 139).

YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR PARENTS

How often do you pray for your parents? Do you respect and honour them?
Honouring your parents also means accepting corrections from them, (Eph. 6:2-3).
You should hold your parents in high esteem; give them warm feelings, appreciations, etc. You should pray for them and they in turn, pray for you.
Let them be your number one prayer warrior and vice versa.

YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE OPPOSITE SEX

What do people say about you?
Are you a good counsellor to your friends?
Are you fun to be with, neat, godly, etc.?
Is your relationship pure, open, does it please God? Are you arrogant, troublesome, lazy, Full of immoral lifestyle, always in the dark, hidden?

Any relationship not defined may defile you and anything you cannot do in front of your parents, is not worth doing outside (e.g.) kissing, indecent touching, fornication, etc.
If you know that you cannot meet up with your emotions, stay clear of relationships. Else, it will lead you to ‘had l know’ at last.

Do you seduce the opposite sex through the way you dress, talk, walk, look or do things?
Do you lead them to sin through these acts?
In your relationships, it is important to have values, know what you want and let it be defined.

Avoid long-term engagement. Its advantage is less than its disadvantage and when a courtship or engagement has lasts longer than people’s expectation, it becomes an object of ridicule, mockery and reference. It causes one to live in fear every time.

YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS

Following God by myself is powerful, but it’s more enjoyable with friends. I would like to challenge you to find like-minded people who want to follow God. Enlist people you know and invite them to a planning session on practical ways to live out a Christian life. Find ways that you can serve God and live out His love together. Stir Each Other Up ( Hebrews 10:24).

People who are real friends will help you be all God wants you to be. They won’t judge you for following God’s call.
Real friends will encourage you to make God number one in your life.
Listen, the day your kneels becomes too far from the ground, that is the day your destiny will begin to die.

In your relationship with other people, curtail the way you speak or address them. Let it not be condescending, harsh, but affectionate.

CONCLUSION
