Today marks the 8th day after the resurrection of Christ. That is 8 days after Easter.
So Christians especially Catholics all over the world today been 11 April, 2021 celebrate the Divine Mercy of God .
It is called a Divine Mercy Sunday. The first Sunday after Easter or the second Sunday of Easter.
Today, the mercy of God was made manifest in the resurrection of Christ. Blood and water gushed out from the heart of Jesus Christ.
This shows the act of God’s love to us. God sacrificed His son in the most humiliating manner in order to ransom a slave.
MERCIFUL FATHER
God is ever merciful. Implore His mercy. Ask for His compassion and mercy. Yes, He knows our limitations and is ever ready to forgive us.
Let nothing stops you from receiving the mercy of God?
Yes, in summarizing the mystery of our salvation we could truly say that it was Divine Mercy that necessitated Christ coming to take flesh.
It was still Divine Mercy that led Him to die for us even when we were still sinners (Rm5:8).
The same Divine Mercy made Him to rise from the dead so that we could Become victorious.
THE NEED FOR DIVINE MERCY
We need Divine Mercy for our salvation and for a complete cleansing of our souls. It is very important because it restores the receiver to faith and empowers him or her for the mission of Christ.
In this way, they can foster a growing love for God and for their neighbour, and after they have obtained God’s pardon, they in turn might be persuaded to show a prompt pardon to their brothers and sisters.
Through this message of Divine Mercy, our Lord is preparing us for His final coming.
DIVINE MERCY PRAYER
You expired, O Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls and an ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world.
O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy,
envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us. Amen🙏
O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of mercy for us, I trust in You. Amen🙏
Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world. Amen🙏
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Amen🙏
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Amen🙏
Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us. And increase Your mercy in us. That in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen🙏
O Greatly Merciful God, Infinite Goodness, today all mankind calls out from the abyss of its misery to Your mercy, to Your compassion, O God. And it is with its mighty voice of misery that it cries out.
Gracious God, do not reject the prayer of this earth’s exiles!
O Lord, Goodness beyond our understanding, Who are acquainted with our misery through and through. And know that by our own power we cannot ascend to You. We implore You: anticipate us with your grace and keep on increasing Your mercy in us. That we may faithfully do Your holy will all through our life and at death’s hour.
Let the omnipotence of Your mercy shield us from the darts of our salvation’s enemies. That we may with confidence, as Your children, await Your [Son’s] final coming — that day known to You alone.
We expect to obtain everything promised us by Jesus in spite of all our wretchedness. For Jesus is our Hope: through His merciful Heart, as through an open gate, we pass through to heaven (Diary 1570).
Akudoblog wishes you a Happy Divine Sunday and prays for God’s Divine Mercy upon you.
